Pork pies. Along with a good blue Stilton the best thing to ever come out of the East Midlands. Melton Mowbray, we take our hats off and doff them in your general direction.
And who better to do the doffing than Jerry and the boys in their pork pie hats...
We've been working on these beauties for a while now, with a few rounds of trial runs between deciding to make them and getting them good enough to let out into the world by themselves. I got the absolute pleasure of testing the second round, which were almost perfect, but were in need of a small topping up on the jelly side of things.
We didn't quite get them to you in time for Christmas (more's the pity), but the eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed we had a trial run of a hundred pies on our store last week. They sold out entirely in just 36 minutes. Which was slightly ridic. So we've stepped up production, and as of this morning there are 340 pork pies with your names on, just waiting for you to come and get them. If it's anything like the trial run then you've got just over two hours till they sell out again.
You won't be disappointed, these are up there with the best pork pies I've eaten, and I've eaten a lot of pork pies, shop bought and home made, in my time. But don't just take my word for it, Jono from Nanjing was one of the lucky few to get his hands on the first run and he was effusive...
